Why Propolis?

The word "propolis" comes from ancient Greek and means something like "in front of the city" (pró "in front" and pólis "city"). Indeed, the precious substance is of the utmost importance for the health and well-being of the bee colony. The bee resin is produced by bees as a by-product to fill small openings and seal gaps in the hive and thus protect the bee colony from bacteria and fungi.

The natural raw material is carried by bees as a resinous substance from tree buds, leaves and plants and mixed with bodily secretions. Therefore, propolis has a high proportion of valuable polyphenols and flavonoids, which are also beneficial to human health.

Propolis helps to improve the immune system and can be used both preventively and curatively for viral or bacterial diseases.

Propolis can be consumed with water, fruit juice, muesli or yoghurt or applied externally to the skin.

At bienenblatt only the highest quality.

We know our beekeepers and know exactly where our propolis comes from. Our
manufacturing formula is patented and every propolis production is tested and

FAQs

Why is Propolis so healthy?

Propolis is being used by bees as a natural repellent against bacteria and viruses. Humans as well have been using Propolis for thousands of years. Natural ingredients such as flavonoids, phenol acid and other polyphenols make Propolis the ideal, biological antibiotic.

How can I consume Propolis?

There are different options how to consume Propolis: either orally with water, milk, yoghurt, etc. Or you can use for skin treatment.

Why do we put alcohol in our tincture?

The active ingredients contained in propolis dissolve best in alcohol. Studies show that this process takes place optimally with 70 per cent alcohol.

The alcohol we use is not only produced naturally (fermentation), but also comes from 100% organically grown grain. This way, we make sure that every ingredient in our tincture has been produced with respect for nature and biodiversity.

Where are the bee hives located?

The hives are mainly located in an ecological region within the Balkan Mountains, with pronounced biodiversity. The result: a unique composition of our propolis.
